Women's Voices Weekend
This workshop is aimed at women who would like to spend a weekend singing with others, exploring harmonies, rhythm and some brilliant ways to improve your singing confidence with a great teacher. Sian has worked with singers and songwriters from around the world and we will be singing inspiring songs from a whole range of sources, traditional and contemporary, including newly written songs from the UK, African- American songs from the USA, work and sacred songs from the Republic of Georgia, and folk songs from Corsica, Bulgaria, and Finland.
No previous experience is necessary in order to take part. All the songs are taught by ear, you won't have to sing by yourself and the workshop is designed to be fun, informal and uplifting.
Sian is a gifted and popular teacher who has run choirs and creative vocal projects for over 30 years, working with composers and performers from around the world. She is Co-Director of The Voice Project, an innovative choral performance project based in the UK with Jonathan Baker, is musical director of the choir, Big Sky, and composes for the women’s vocal ensemble Harmonium.
